Warm up properly.

Blanket finds the companies that need you this week and the one person there who'll care. Your first message shows them why they need your product.

  • No public sign in 72 hours.

  • Nothing your product can show them yet.
No reason, no message.

The warmest way to get your first customer.

Blanket finds who needs what you built, runs your product on their public data, and drafts the email in your voice.

Blanket, tested on our own two startups

We're sending 600 emails to strangers across two startups. A coin flip decides which half open with proof from the product. We'll publish the reply rates when the tests end.

10 to 25%Reply rate with proof
1 to 5%Reply rate without
+300 to 400%The difference

Research average, not our result yet: Instantly agency data, emails with specific company context and a fresh sign against generic ones. Ours replace these in December.

Most email from strangers gets ignored because it's about the sender. I built Blanket so every first message starts with something true about the reader's company. If they can't check it, it doesn't go out.

Bring your product. Blanket does the research and writes the first draft, with the proof already in it.

  1. Paste your URL

Blanket reads your site, docs and repo, and works out what your product can show a stranger about their own company. Connect Gmail if you want to save drafts there.

  2. Pick where to start

Blanket suggests three kinds of customer and the public signs that a company has the problem right now, like hiring a compliance engineer or opening a first office abroad. You choose where to start.

Common questions

What do I need to get started?

Your product's URL. Blanket reads your site, docs and repo, and builds everything else from there.

Do I need to know who my customer is?

No. Blanket picks three kinds of customer from public evidence and what your product does. The replies show you which one fits best.

Why do people reply?

Each email is about their own company. It opens with something your product found there, offers a proof pack made for them, and asks one easy question.

Is it okay to email people I don't know?

You send emails from your own account. Check the rules that apply to you and the recipient before you send. Blanket respects your do-not-contact list.

Where do the emails go out from?

You open each email in your own Gmail, read it, and send it yourself. You can also connect Gmail to save drafts and read sent messages and replies.

What happens when someone says yes?

Blanket writes your reply, with the proof they asked for and two times for a short call. Then it gives you a one-page prep card: what they reacted to, three questions to ask, and a good next step.

How much of my time does this take?

About ten minutes to see your first proof. Then about 15 minutes a day to read new emails and send the ones you like.

Your first customer is already out there.

Find who needs you. Show them why.
